Abstract

Most graduate programs (including Family Medicine) are developed in large cities. Madison, Wisconsin has about 240,000 people in its metropolitan area that also includes several hospitals and several postgraduate degrees in various specialties. In my second and third year of graduate school, my training was in Baraboo, in the state of Wisconsin. This city has about 12,000 inhabitants and a small hospital one hour away from the big city. The differences are marked.
