Abstract

Abstract: Epilepsy is one of the neurological diseases that are most commonly observed in our environment. The clinical presentation of this pathology is very varied because it depends exclusively on the site of the cerebral cortex in which the epileptogenic focus originates, it is known that the etiology of epilepsy depends on a combination of genetic and environmental factors which will determine the evolution of the disease and its persistence according to the passage of time. It is important to differentiate the term epilepsy from epileptic seizure because it can lead to confusion. There is a small group of epilepsies that, in addition to having seizures, are accompanied by autonomic signs such as alteration of RF or HR, and it is very rare to see this type of epilepsy only with autonomic signs without the presence of seizures. The case presented is relevant because the initial clinical manifestation of the patient is rare and can be confused with other pediatric pathologies associated in particular with this age group.
