Covid 19. Emergence and emerging: ethical challenges of research and care from the contexts of the South
Abstract
This article reflects on some of the current debates in “emerging” contexts regarding the ways to approach the “emergency” caused by the presence and expansion of Covid19, from its beginning alerts generated in late 2019 to the declarations of pandemic in March 2020.
Thus, from an interdisciplinary approach, it reviews the challenges to apply ethical parameters in research and health care about prevention, treatment and communication around the Covid 19, as well as a critical review of the milestones of the policies that have been applied in a risk society, digitally hyperconnected, with an urban-global emphasis (and that makes rural-local invisible) and crossed by deep inequalities in resources, and knowledge transfer from the global South that require differentiated analysis.
