Abstract

The present study seeks to determine the total IgG, IgM and IgA antibodies against SARS COV-2 in a population of the Ecuadorian highlands. The sample universe is comprised of 318 adults, 187 men and 131 women. The percentage of positivity was 42.5%. Prior to sampling, a survey was conducted on the symptoms, diagnostic tests and vaccination of SARS COV-2. Correlation of positive results was found for our test with participants who presented symptoms of SARS COV-2 infection confirmed by PCR (89.7%), also correlation between people who claimed not to have had symptoms of SARS COV-2 infection with test results negative (75.6%). There was a small number of results classified as false negatives (2.8%). In addition, the results of people who claimed to have never had symptoms of SARS COV-2 infection and obtained positive results in the antibody test (14.7%) that would be considered as asymptomatic carriers.
