Abstract

We present a case of a spider bite by Phoneutria nigriventer and treated at Hospital Pedro Vicente Maldonado located in the subtropical zone of the Northwest of Pichincha in Ecuador in 2017. The case is of a 40 year-old female patient, who, while farming, suffered a bite from a banana spider on her left index finger. She went to the emergency room presenting a picture of mild poisoning, which evolved favorably.

Objective: strengthen knowledge and motivate an adequate record, in addition, to make known the importance of effective and timely management due to the absence of an antidote.
