Abstract

Introduction: Hip dislocation is a serious orthopedic injury that can result from high energy trauma or underlying medical conditions, accurate diagnosis and immediate management are crucial to prevent serious complications, in this study, updated information on the diagnosis of hip dislocation, with a focus on imaging techniques and technological advances.
Objectives: To analyze updated information on the diagnosis of hip dislocation, including clinical and radiological aspects, to improve the understanding and management of this orthopedic injury.
Materials and Methods: An exhaustive review of the medical literature was carried out using databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar and Scopus. Original articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses and clinical guidelines published in the last five years that provided relevant information on the diagnosis of hip dislocation were included.
Results and Discussion: The review highlights significant advances in the diagnosis of hip dislocation, with emphasis on imaging techniques such as radiography, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, 3D reconstruction, 3D printing and computer-assisted diagnosis emerge as promising tools. Physical examination maneuvers and the importance of an accurate differential diagnosis are discussed. These technological and clinical advances are transforming the management of this injury, improving diagnostic accuracy and the quality of patient care.
Conclusions: Early and accurate diagnosis of hip dislocation is essential for effective management and to prevent serious complications. Technological advances are improving diagnostic accuracy and opening new therapeutic possibilities. A comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach is essential to improve clinical outcomes and quality of life for affected patients.
