Revisión de la Literatura sobre Pruebas Diagnósticas para COVID-19

Resumen

La pandemia de COVID-19 causada por la transmisión del virus SARS-CoV-2 ha generado un gran impacto sanitario y socioeconómico de difícil solución ya que hasta el momento no existe un tratamiento o vacuna aprobado para combatirla. De esta manera, las medidas para controlar la transmisión de SARS-CoV-2 se han limitado al distanciamiento social, uso de tapa bocas y a la vigilancia epidemiológica a través de la implementación de pruebas diagnósticas en la población. Estas pruebas son útiles para conocer sobre la transmisión del virus, para poder aislar a los infectados, rastrear a los sospechosos, y de esta manera, obtener datos precisos sobre el número de casos de COVID-19. El uso de distintas pruebas influye en la toma de decisiones clínicas y de políticas públicas, por lo que el objetivo de este artículo es realizar una revisión de la literatura sobre las pruebas de diagnóstico para SARS-CoV-2, considerando, además, las recomendaciones otorgadas por diversas guías de práctica clínica que han sido desarrolladas durante el tiempo de pandemia.
