Abstract

Influenza, is a recurrent epidemic in the world for several centuries, despite medical efforts from time to time epidemics occur and is a frequent reason for consultation in the Emergency and Outpatient Service producing several deaths a year in all countries of the planet.

The knowledge we have about this disease is the one that is published in the countries of the first world, we do not have large research in Latin America and this knowledge is never adequately contextualized.

The objective is to conduct a literature review on the subject and contextualize this knowledge for tropical countries.

METHOD

We use the critical reading method is the reading performed in an analytical way. This means that in addition to understanding what is said in a specific text, we try to analyze what is expressed to verify its successes, its errors and the ways in which the information is presented. We seek to have a vision of the facts presented, trying to corroborate what is affirmed with other sources.
